By accessing or using Flavour Compass ("the Service"), operated by Jason Maw ("we," "us," or "our"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Service. The Service is intended for users aged 18 and older.
Flavour Compass is a culinary ingredient pairing web application that provides flavour pairing information, ingredient relationship visualisations, and related culinary intelligence tools. Pairing data is drawn from culinary references, professional chef knowledge, and curated research. It is presented as culinary guidance only — not as nutritional, medical, or scientific fact. The Service is available in free and paid subscription tiers as described on our pricing page.
To access paid features, you must create an account and provide accurate, complete information. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. Please notify us immediately at support@flavourcompass.com if you suspect any unauthorised use of your account.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.
Paid subscriptions are processed by Paddle.com, our authorised reseller and Merchant of Record. By subscribing, you agree to Paddle's terms and conditions in addition to these terms. All prices are listed in USD unless otherwise specified.
Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period. You may cancel at any time through your account settings, and cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
We reserve the right to change subscription pricing with reasonable notice. Price changes will not apply to your current billing period.
All paid plans include a 7-day money-back guarantee from the date of purchase. Refund requests outside this window are handled at our discretion. Please see our Refund Policy for full details.

All content, design, code, and data within the Service — including the flavour pairing database, node web visualisation, and brand assets — are the property of Flavour Compass or its licensors. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without our express written permission. Individual flavour pairing facts are not claimed as proprietary; our structured database schema and presentation are original works.
Flavour Compass provides culinary pairing guidance drawn from culinary references, professional chef knowledge, and curated research. This information reflects culinary tradition and practice — it is not nutritional advice, medical advice, or scientifically validated data.
Allergies and dietary restrictions are entirely the responsibility of the user. Flavour Compass does not account for individual allergies, intolerances, dietary restrictions, or health conditions. No pairing suggestion on this platform should be interpreted as safe for any specific individual without independent verification.
Always verify the suitability of any ingredient for your own dietary needs before use. If you have a known allergy or health condition, consult a qualified medical or dietary professional before acting on any information provided by this Service.
The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to accuracy, completeness, or fitness for a particular purpose. We do not guarantee that pairing information is exhaustive, universally agreed upon, or free from error. Culinary knowledge is subjective and evolves over time.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Flavour Compass shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability to you shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Ontario, Canada.
We may update these terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated terms on this page with a revised date. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
